Role Summary

This role requires a high level of business and financial acumen, fact-based decision making and counsel to effectively partner with senior leadership across the Plant functions to build/execute an HR strategy in support of our organization’s critical success drivers.      

This role will require you to establish business credibility, through demonstrated HR knowledge and expertise and strong working relationships with the HR COEs.                 

This role will provide Human Resources support and leadership for all plant HR initiatives in a lean manufacturing environment. Provides strategic consulting, direction and assistance in the execution of people or business strategies, including employee engagement & culture, talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards and employee relations.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Provide strong HR Leadership to direct reports within the HR function

  • Identify, propose, and implement HR best practices; leverage expertise and utilize resources to support and promote client group business objectives. Provide expertise in the following areas and support of Church & Dwight programs: career planning, performance management, coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, employee relations, change management, learning and development, recognition programs, D&I and organization design.

  • Assist business leaders to drive their talent agendas with strong ability to advise in the areas of training & development, and succession planning; design and propose initiatives and programs to train and develop employees, increase productivity, improve morale, motivate employees, and create a positive employee relations environment to ensure we maintain Church and Dwight as “A Place People Matter”.

  • Implement and update compensation program; rewrite job descriptions as necessary; conduct  salary surveys and coordinate merit pool (salary budget); analyze compensation; monitor performance evaluation program.

  • Conduct recruitment efforts, monitor career pathing program, maintain Succession Plan, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.

  • Monitor and report key HR metrics (turnover, cost per hire, employee diversity, etc.)

  • Use HR Data/Workforce Analytics to drive HR Strategy

  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business, HR or related major is required, Master’s degree is preferred.   

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years management experience required.

  • California Manufacturing experience required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media, verbal, and written, etc. 

  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and multitask in a fast-paced environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules as appropriate.

  • Strong leadership abilities and skills as a team builder, coach, and mentor.

  • Ability to operate a computer in a Windows-based environment. Strong data analytic skills and proficiency in Office Suite products and HRIS such as Workday.
